On Friday while I was typing I looked down and saw this amazing feat.

My mind was blown. The clasp on my bracelet had punctured a hole through my “to do” list and was just… doing it’s job.

After I took several pictures and made everyone who walked by my desk take a look – I realized one of two things.

Either I should start charging, and take my bracelet out on the road; or I truly have the most boring life…

You got us this time Crate and Barrel.

I wondered what was taking so long with our couch. They said it was going to be over a month before they could replace our faulty one. It seemed like a long time, but even Nick couldn’t bring himself to complain about it. I mean they were replacing it.

Mikey and I were ready and waiting. We removed all the dog hair, which to do a good job, takes about an hour. I didn’t want them to think we just let our pet sleep on our furniture. I made Mikey sleep like a burrito until the new couch came. I didn’t want him to get ANY hair on it.

If all had gone according to plan, little Mikey would have only been a burrito for a few minutes. Crate and Barrel showed up right on time! Only one small hiccup at the bottom of our hill…

Ugh! Stuck!

An hour later the poor delivery dudes SOMEHOW unstuck the truck using miscellaneous items found around the neighborhood, one drunk man who came out of El Compadre, and some other truck from the scary furniture store on the corner.

I was overjoyed to have our new couch that could hopefully hold more then 7 dog hairs without collapsing.

As I swan dived onto my new couch it wasn’t until I landed with a thud, a bruise, and whiplash that I couldn’t help but hypothesize. It could quite possibly take cement a month to dry when used as cushion filling. Coincidence? I think not…

HAPPY 4th of JULY!

This year Nick and I spent the fourth in Austin, TX. He had some shows at Cap City Comedy Club so we decided to turn it into a fun vacation. However, we didn’t really think about Texas in July or what that might entail.

It was well into the hundreds and uncomfortably humid. We mostly complained to each other and tried to think of activities that involved an A/C.

One highlight for me was TARGET. Not a place that I frequent often, but I always wish I had the time/patience to. There are these balls there that Mikey loves, and for some reason you can only buy them at Target. I was overly insistent that Nick take me there to buy in BULK Mikey’s favorite toy. And then I had to remember not to leave them in the rental car or hotel room, pack them in my already tight suitcase and haul home – because there just isn’t a TARGET 7.6 miles from my home. He would be overjoyed, and over flowing with puppy kisses when we bestowed upon his little French face his favorite ball.

And I was right. It was everything I was expecting – and more.

Hey it’s me. How are you? Good, good, good.

Hey listen June. I don’t want to point fingers or embarrass you in front of your peers, but for the record I got a sunburn on my birthday. That just happens to be in December. So far all I have to show from you June, is that I have to start my base tan all over again. For the record (since I’m keeping one), that was acquired in May. I get it. Times are tough. But sometimes you just need to pull it together and realize you have a job. Your job June is to be summertime. I don’t live in California for the air quality or to work on my body image. I love California because I can wear a tank top on my birthday and subsequently get a sunburn. So here is a picture of me holding a cat figurine that I found on top of Jessie’s refrigerator. This cat made me smile for at least an hour after I discovered it. Hopefully it will do the same for you (for at least one hour sometime this weekend).

Despite being the GLOOMIEST , yesterday turned out to be pretty fun! Mikey and I started out bummin’ around town, drinking lattes, and trying to rack our brains as to what we were supposed to do without an abundance of sunshine at our disposal. Mikey usually likes looking out the window during car rides, but it just wasn’t worth it yesterday.

Mikey’s day ended around 2 pm with a quick trip to the vet. He just got all of his vaccinations updated and MAN those wipe him out!

My day however did not end. Some friends and I decided to head on down to Hollywood Park in Inglewood to watch HORSE RACING! Um, hello? How did I not know about this sport? We bet on 3 races and won nothing. Since I know nothing about betting (or math) I went for the horse names that I liked best. Clearly that’s NOT how to win. Regardless, ANDWHATELSE, SUZIECUTIE, and MARCADE deserved every penny that I threw down on them (do they get the money?).

After the track festivities we decided to go see a movie. In which we promptly fell asleep, and continued to sleep until the credits rolled.

This is my new blog. It’s better than my old one, mostly because it’s new. I know it was free, but it feels very expensive. My old one was hard because I couldn’t do this…OR…this:

If Mikey went to school this MIGHT be his senior picture.

Well maybe I could… but it couldn’t be done without spending at least one full hour (that’s one full episode of 20/20 on WE or 2 full episodes of Golden Girls) of googling.

I hope because it’s easier it’s something I do more. I like sharing my thoughts; and I like my bird a little less. But that’s not important. What’s important is that I have a new blog. Stay thuned.
